  • TD Canada Trust’s purchase of Truscan Realty, required it to sell Truscan’s large real estate portfolio. One of the assets to be sold was the Root Plaza. We were asked to represent Truscan and list this asset for sale. The plaza had moderate appeal as a result of its age, state of repair, tenant mix and stagnant trade area. This challenge required us to utilize our database and
    market a property whose value was lower than the
    owner’s expectations. Careful due diligence and hard work resulted in a sale to a private investor.
